James D. Wheeler D.O., F.A.C.P.

Dr. James D. Wheeler is an outstanding Family Physician with over 40 years of practice experience. He is certified by the American Osteopathic board of Family Practice. To obtain this certification the Doctor was required to document 900 hours of post-graduate Education during his first six years of general family practice.

He was awarded the highest honor given by the American Osteopathic Board of General Practice: a "Fellow" Award in General Practice in 1976. Over his long career in the State of Oklahoma he has served his community in every way he knew how first by providing general family care in the field of family medicine included Pediatrics, Gynecology, and also industrial medicine. Additionally, he provided care in the local hospital 2 weekends per month handling all types of emergencies for over 16 years.

Dr. Wheeler moved to the area after retirement to be closer to his family.

Civilly, he rode with the Oklahoma State Patrol for over 15 years and was named Honorary Trooper in 1978 and again in 1992. He was a member in good standing in the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce, the Osteopathic Association on all state and national levels, The American Medical Technologists, and his local Corvette Antique Club.

"I have seen it all and done it all" says Dr. Wheeler and now he wants to deliver care 2-3 days per week seeing the good folks of west Georgia.
